About Us

Mission Statement

Secured Advantage Federal Credit Union is dedicated to providing distinct benefits to our members by being their best source for financial services.

History & Philosophy

Secured Advantage Federal Credit Union (SAFCU) was organized in 1959 by employees of the Simpsonville plant of the Cryovac Division of W.R. Grace & Co. These employees were concerned about the financial well being of their fellow workers. These dedicated employees, along with many other Cryovac employees, have worked diligently over the years to make SAFCU the sound, healthy financial institution it is today.

All member transactions are held in the strictest of confidence with careful consideration to always protect the interest of the members and SAFCU.

SAFCU is a not-for-profit institution incorporated under Federal laws. Our charter was granted by the National Credit Union Administration, an agency of the federal government. The NCUA supervises SAFCU operations to insure that we comply with federal regulations, our credit union bylaws, and that we observe good business practices.

We are totally owned by our members and managed by a nine member Board of Directors elected by the membership at its annual meeting. The Board of Directors, along with the Supervisory Committee, donate their time and expertise to make SAFCU the best it can be.

If you have a need to contact a member of the Supervisory Committee, please send them an E-mail or you may contact committee members directly.
